The Mt. Rainier Chapter - Who Are We?

The Mt. Rainier Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants is here to serve the members in the southern Puget Sound region of Washington state.

Based out of Montvale, New Jersey IMA manages over 300 chapters located throughout the world.  It is universally recognized by the financial community as a respected institution influencing the concepts and ethical practices of management accounting. 

Meeting in Tacoma, Washington the Mr. Rainier chapter services members from south King county, south to Centralia and west to Grays Harbor county.

To provide a dynamic forum for management accounting and finance professionals to develop and advance their careers through certification, research and practice development, education, networking, and the advocacy of the highest ethical and professional practices.

Students

The Mt. Rainier Chapter recognizes and supports student members because the strength of student involvement is directly related to the success and future of the profession.  Therefore, Mt. Rainier provides student scholarship opportunities, student chapter sponsorship, and mentoring as well as coaching opportunities by seasoned professionals in the field of corporate finance and management accounting.

We are currently seeking to reestablish student chapter sponsorship.  If you are are a faculty member committed to the full development of students as well-rounded accounting professionals in public and private practice or a student committed to the same goals in your career, then we would like to hear from you.  Please contact us at Student Chapter Sponsorship.

Scholarships: The Mt Rainier Chapter maintains its own independent scholarship fund that is supported by the chapter membership and by chapter activities. If your are interested in applying for a scholarship then attend the November 8, 2006 meeting from 4:30pm to 8:30pm because it is on that date we will open up this year's scholarship campaign.  Scholarships are merit based with financial need considerations and vary from year-to-year dependant on fund performance.
